​What is an End-of-Life Doula?

​

An End-of-Life Doula serves as a compassionate companion to someone who is dying & the dying person’s loved ones. An End-of-Life Doula is a supportive presence to the dying and their circle of support.

Dying can be viewed from many perspectives:

• An inevitable biological event in which the body no longer functions and the brainwave activity in the mind ceases.

• A joyous event where the person is relieved from all pain and suffering from their disease.

• A transitional phase where mind, soul and spirit of the person move to a sacred space. I understand the wide variety of religious beliefs about death and dying and can accommodate many faiths.​
